Privacy Policy for FinanceFlow

FinanceFlow is a personal finance management application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name and email address, either directly (email/password sign-up) or via Google Sign-In. This is used to create and secure your account.

Financial information you enter. The App lets you record expenses, income, budgets, goals, and investments (such as gold, shares, EMIs, loans, and other revenue). This data is entered by you and stored so the App can display your history, analytics, and reports.

AI chat messages. If you use the in-app AI assistant, your messages and the assistant's responses are stored so the conversation can continue across sessions, and are processed by our AI provider to generate responses.

Technical information. We may automatically collect basic technical data (such as device type and app version) required for the App to function and to diagnose issues.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate you and maintain your account
• To provide core features: expense/income tracking, budgeting, goal tracking, investment tracking, analytics, reports, and market data
• To generate AI-powered insights, chat responses, and financial suggestions
• To improve app reliability and troubleshoot issues

We do not sell your personal or financial information to third parties.

3. How We Store and Share Information

Your account and financial data are stored securely on our backend servers (hosted on AWS) and in a MongoDB database. Authentication is handled by Firebase (Google). Chat messages may be processed by our third-party AI provider (Google Gemini) solely to generate responses to your queries.

We do not share your financial data with advertisers or other third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and financial data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is deleted immediately (see Section 5 below). Some limited data may be retained for a short period where required by law, then deleted.

5. Your Choices and Rights

• You can edit or delete individual financial entries within the App at any time.
• You can permanently delete your account and all associated data yourself, immediately, from the Profile tab within the App (Profile > Delete Account).
• You can also request account or data deletion by email if you're unable to access the App. See our Delete Account & Data page for details.
• You can sign out at any time, which ends your active session.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures, including Firebase Authentication and encrypted network connections (HTTPS), to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Age Restriction

FinanceFlow is intended for users aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
